Our story
Every photograph is a choice to freeze a passing moment in time. For over three decades, my life’s work has been defined by a deep obsession with light, texture, and the raw truth of the world around us. Based in the historic landscape of Frederick, Maryland, my lens spans the vibrant, rolling countryside of the Potomac Valley—from the morning mist of Brunswick and Shepherdstown to the golden harvest sunsets of Lovettsville and Middletown. But before anchoring my studio in this beautiful region, my camera took me on a profound journey across the globe.
Driven by passion
My technical foundation began at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., where I was trained to look past the surface of a subject and focus on its underlying geometry and emotional depth. That classical training was quickly sharpened by years of invaluable field experience on assignment, traveling the world and assisting renowned National Geographic photographer, Richard Nowitz. Working at that elite level teaches you that true photography requires immense patience, sharp technical precision, and an unyielding respect for the story unfolding in front of your camera.
That commitment to storytelling took on a deeper meaning during my time as a photojournalist for Greenpeace. Tasked with documenting toxic environments for national advertising campaigns, I leaned into a style of photography that demanded absolute honesty, sensitivity, and unmistakable visual impact. Later, one of the most transformative assignments of my career brought me to the rugged Badlands of South Dakota. Living among the Lakota Sioux, I created an intimate photographic series documenting their culture, resilience, and the complex relationship between their ancient way of life and the modern world. That project permanently cemented my artistic philosophy: true fine art must preserve emotion and truth—not just appearances.
Today, that same multi-decade legacy of editorial excellence is poured directly into every single print in this gallery storefront. My work has been featured in hundreds of premier global publications, including Time Magazine, The Washington Post, National Geographic Traveler, Condé Nast, and World Magazine.
